Get Involved
Our volunteer opportunities look a little different these days. Most of our needs are filled by school and community groups. But, we still have many ways that you and your neighbors can give back.
Organize a Packing Event
The best way you can help out right now is to organize a Packing Event with your family, team or organization to assemble and donate items for our Tiger Pack students. If you would like to assemble and donate items listed below, please contact us at erieuplink@gmail.com to let us know what you will be donating and to set up a day/time to coordinate dropping them off at our office in Erie Village.
1. Assemble Tiger Packs (instructions below)
Tiger Packs are food-filled backpacks sent home with students from Erie schools with non-perishable, kid-friendly food items to supplement children’s healthy diets over the long weekend or holiday break. At this time, to assure student safety, we are using disposable bags and delivering to student’s doorsteps.
2. Create Personal Care Kits (pictured below)
We are collecting travel-sized toiletries in Ziploc Bags to add to our Tiger Packs. Include items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, Kleenex, make-up wipes and sunscreen. Food assistance programs such as SNAP do not allow for the purchase of toiletries, so these items are a great help to families on a tight budget.
3. Collect NEW socks, hats, gloves, pajamas in all sizes
We also like to include cold weather gear and seasonal clothing in our Tiger Packs to keep these kids warm during the cold winter months. We serve kids from kindergarten to high school, so all sizes are needed. Please contact us to learn more about sizing and quantity needed.
4. Seasonal Treats
To make the Tiger Packs fun as well as useful, you can donate seasonal treats and items for us to include. Items like Girl Scout Cookies, hot cocoa/s'mores kits, summer fun toys, Valentine cards and Easter treats are always a big hit!

Thank you, Erie, for your donations of hats, gloves, and socks for Tiger Packs! We are so thankful to keep little hands and feet warm this Winter.
